A webinar that will be highlighting business opportunities in challenges associated with integrating climate action into poverty reduction initiatives will be happening next week on January 20th 2022.
As many should know, challenges exist such as 734 million people living on less than $1.90 a day. (United Nations), or climate change being a serious risk to poverty reduction and also threatening development efforts (OECD). However, even with these challenges, business opportunities do still exist. And these business opportunities are exactly what are going to be discussed in next week’s webinar.
The webinar will also touch on both climate action and integrating climate action into poverty reduction activities. Climate action is an urgent action needed to combat climate change and its impacts, and these actions can be integrated into poverty reduction activities in various ways such as improving governance, or increasing the resilience of livelihoods and infrastructure. Additionally, the sustainable development goals that this webinar will be addressing are:

The speaker for this webinar is going to be Dr. Michael Borish, President of Michael Borish, and Company Inc.
Meet the Speaker:
Michael Borish has more than 34 years of experience in strategic planning, banking and credit, financial sector policy, private sector development, housing finance and risk management. Most of his experience has been in overseas markets. He has an MBA from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Finance at Carleton University. He has managed his own consulting firm for more than 25 years and previously worked at the World Bank in Washington DC and as a consultant to numerous private sector firms and development finance institutions including the African Development Bank in Abidjan.
