Launching EnvironFocus Knowledge Transfer (EKT), A New Youth program
EnvironFocus is excited to introduce a new youth program titled EnvironFocus Knowledge Transfer (EKT).
The EKT program is another platform for our clients to participate in/fund credible social impact projects that will improve their sustainability profile in their communities that provide youth with quality educational experiences.
Our community partner on the this program is the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The program is designed to educate students in grades 4-12 on ways to successfully implement sustainability projects in their local community, while meeting United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
This program is done by providing insight into sustainable actions, designing, developing, and/or implementing sustainability projects, and meeting United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), all to enhance the learning for students currently working on a sustainability action project or looking to hear from professionals in the industry. EKT sessions may also touch on careers in green/environment industries, advice on how to succeed in the field, and women in science.
Working with the schools aligns with our mission to cooperate with our clients to develop and implement innovative solutions to improve any organization’s sustainability performance within their communities.
Starting projects, activities, or other initiatives can be daunting and confusing. It often requires a lot of research, paperwork, and preparation. We can help with that! Whether it be fundraising, grant applications, community project implementation and design, career guidance, or information sessions, we can walk schools through it all, so it does not need to be a painstaking process!
EnvironFocus looks forward to working with schools and educational centers to enhance their students’ learning and with industry partners to help develop and implement social impact projects that engage youths.
According to TDSB, student achievement and well-being improve when students are engaged. Organizations that invest in youth empower the youth to build a better future for themselves and future generations. They expand their market share and thus improve their bottom line. It is always a win-win for all concerned. You can find information and updates about the program at www.ekcep.ca/ekt
