0 Our climate is changing bringing about increased frequency of natural disasters from earthquakes to flooding to tsunamis to hurricanes to fires to tornadoes, just to name a few. People are dying in numbers all over the world and there is extensive damage to infrastructure resulting in huge financial loses. The numbers of deaths per country is dependent on whether the disaster happened in a rich or poor country because poor countries do not have the organizational and technological capacity to deal with these disasters.
We have no control of nature and cannot stop these disasters from occurring, which is something we are not use to. It is in our learned behaviour to dominate and manipulate everything around us to suit our lifestyle as oppose to co-existing with our natural environment. We should remember that we are a small part of the universe and not the whole. Our focus should be on finding ways to adapt to these changes and reducing actions that affect the environment negatively.
