0 The Rotary Club of Brampton has adopted the Conservation Drive Park located at 290 Conservation Drive, Brampton, Ontario (east of Hurontario and south of Mayfield) under the Adopt-A-Park program in September 2021. The park is home to the Brampton Etobicoke Creek Trail, a 20.9 kilometers out and back trail. It is primarily used for hiking, walking, road biking, and snowshoeing and is accessible year-round. It features a lake, and the creekside woods are known for their fall colors. It has a baseball field and a roaming deer.
The City of Brampton in Ontario runs the Adopt-A-Park program. The City encourages families, neighbourhoods, civic groups, businesses, and individuals to preserve and enhance the parks system. According to the City, volunteers can donate time and resources to give special care to a City park by helping to maintain, beautify, and enhance the open space and keep the park safe for all to enjoy.
The Conservation Drive Park is a beautiful park. It is the 2nd top-rated park in Brampton after Credit View Park and 4th rated sights and landmarks in Brampton. In the Spring of 2022, the Rotary Club of Brampton will be donating time and resources to plant a Pollinator Garden in the Conservation Drive Park in partnership with the City of Brampton.
The Rotary Club of Brampton sponsored the Interact Club of Brampton to participate in EKCEP: COVID 19 Response Edition in April 2020. It was an excellent experience for both the Interactors and the Club.
In 2021, Rotary International formally added Protecting the Environment as an Area of Focus. In July 2021, Obie Agusiegbe, CEO, EnvironFocus, became the first Environment Chair of the Rotary Club of Brampton. The Rotary year runs from July to June of each year.
