urban p 2 4 Urban Gardening Project - A pilot project - 8 weeks later8 weeks later, the plants have been transplanted and all are doing very well and ready to eat!  We harvested some leaves for salad to be eaten with rice, a traditional meal. 😀.  A lot of watering and weeding were required as no pesticide was used but in exchange we produced organic food.

If we replace the time spent watering and weeding our flower beds, lawns and shrubs with time caring for our gardens, in return we eat good food that will nourish our bodies and keep money in our pockets.

We can farm our way out of poverty and food insecurity. Nigeria is blessed with fertile soil that can grow plants all year round unlike temperate countries, like Canada, that normally have a 4 months window to grow these plants outdoors. Nigeria and Africa as a whole should take advantage of the blessings she has been given. People should take responsibility for their lives, one crop at a time.
